How Steppagotchi uses AI

AI in Steppagotchi is on-device first. On supported iPhones, walk plans, weekly recaps and the pet diary are written on your device with Apple's on-device models.

Cloud AI is opt-in: each cloud feature is off until you turn it on in Settings, AI. Recap voice uses MeloTTS, and walk plans fall back to Mistral Small 3.1 only on phones that can't make them on the device, both on Cloudflare Workers AI. AI outfit images (FLUX.1 [schnell]) will use it too when they launch. We never send raw Apple Health data, your name, email address or install ID. Cloudflare does not use your data to train AI models. Nobody uses it for ads.

AI-generated text, voice and images are labelled. Your pet is an AI character, not a person. Steppagotchi gives general walking tips, not medical advice. If you are struggling, call or text 988.
